ABOUT TRAINING WHEELS
Nurturing Diverse Young Minds in a Vibrant Learning Environment for Children Aged 3 to 5

At Training Wheels Childcare Center, we’ve created a dynamic multicultural preschool in Pittsburgh that caters to each child’s unique needs. Founded in 1979 by child development expert Dr. Betty H. Robinson, our center offers personalized learning experiences that boost cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Our engaging curriculum blends art, music, and technology, ensuring children gain essential skills through fun, interactive activities. We value family involvement, providing regular updates and opportunities for parents to actively participate in their child’s educational journey.
Dr. Betty H. Robinson established our center to address the growing demand for top-notch early childhood education. Over the years, we’ve adapted to meet our families’ diverse needs, evolving into a multicultural preschool that celebrates inclusivity. Our committed staff creates a safe, nurturing space where children explore, learn, and thrive. We offer a comprehensive curriculum featuring thematic units on community helpers, transportation, and safety. Additionally, we provide nutritious meals to support children’s overall well-being. Our success stems from strong partnerships with families, fostered through open communication via newsletters, updates, and conferences. Together, we aim to make a lasting positive impact on our children and their families.

As part of the Manchester Youth Development Center (MYDC) family since 1993, we’ve expanded our reach and resources. This partnership allows us to offer affordable, high-quality preschool education to a broader community. Our shared facilities with Manchester Academic Charter School maximize our impact, creating a seamless educational experience for children as they grow. With over 60% of our staff being Northside residents, many of whom are former students or parents, we maintain strong ties to our local community. This connection ensures that our multicultural preschool in Pittsburgh truly reflects and serves the diverse needs of our neighborhood
